John Whooley works as a:
Piano Tuner
More than 20 years ago, John taught himself to tune pianos out of curiosity and to more frequently have his own piano tuned. When his long-standing musical director gig came to an end at the beginning of 2024, he started Western Slope Piano Tuning - servicing Western Colorado. www.westernslopepiano.com. With 100 pianos tuned in 2024 and 165 tuned in 2025, John is on track to tune 300 in 2026. Piano tuning is an amazing art, and although John has over 20 years experience in being a piano tuner, he has improved his skill and tool set tremendously through experience, study and a desire to provide great service to his customers. He is dedicated to continuing to develop his craft by studying with other piano tuners who have skills and knowledge to share, as well as learning about repairs and restoration.
Review from Feb 2026:
"Wish I could give more than 5 stars!! John is amazingly skilled at his craft. He is also extremely kind, and generous with his time. I have owned my Boston upright for over a decade, and after recently switching to John for tuning, my piano has never sounded better. Highly recommend!!!" ~Kristine
